ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS


Alejandro "Alex" M. Trujillo, CPA, has 10 years of experience in public accounting. Alex has significant experience in the audits of not-for-profit and governmental organizations. In adition, Alex has specialized in Common Interest Realty Association (CIRA) for condominium and homeowner associations. Alex is a graduate of Florida International University "FIU" with a Bachelor of Accounting. In addition, he received his Master of Accounting degree in 2003 from FIU. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves on the audit committee of the United Way of Miami-Dade County.

 

Octavio "Tab" Verdeja, CPA, is a Manager with Verdeja & De Armas, LLP’s audit division. He had two years of experience working with KPMG on various publicly traded companies and other large engagements. He has a total of nine years of experience in public accounting in the State of Florida. He has performed numerous non-profit, for-profit, single audits, and compliance audits. Tab is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Certified in Financial Forensics. Currently he is an active board member for the United Way Audit Committee and the Cuban American CPA’s Association. In addition, Tab serves on the Finance Committee of Joshua’s Heart Foundation.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I wanted to send a special thank you to all the chapter members and board members that made my year as your chapter president so special.  We had an amazing year and I know your chapter is in great hands with the young energetic board that we have ready to serve our member's best interests.  I want our members to know that we are going to continue to work very diligently to ensure that you get the best out of your FICPA membership.   I look forward to seeing all the members out at future meetings and at the Ocean Reef Retreat in July.  Don't forget to check out the Chapter website and the brand new Ocean Reef Retreat website.  We will providing a lot of information regarding sponsors and future events.  Thank you again for all of your continued support and input.
