SPEAKERS
Diego S.
Ayala CPA, CFE, CFF, CVA, is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in
Florida. He currently serves as a Manager in the Audit, Litigation and Forensic
Accounting departments at Mallah Furman: a Certified Public Accounting Firm
which has served the South Florida and surrounding region for more than 50
years. With a mixed background of private, international and public accounting
experience, Diego offers a practical approach to matters such us complex
litigation engagements. Diego’s experience includes, but is not limited to,
audit engagements of multinational public and private corporations; and civil
litigation matters including complex commercial litigation from the plaintiff
and defendant side.
Frank A.
Pena, C.P.A., A cum laude graduate
of the City University of New York (Lehman College Campus); Frank earned his
C.P.A. designation from the States of New York in 1994 and Florida in 2002. In a
career spanning almost 25 years, Frank's experience is diversified and comprised
of several different industries in the United States and Latin America. With
Mallah Furman since 2002 and currently a Principal, Frank has specialized on
audit and attestation services for closely-held private enterprises. He has
extensive experience in construction, distribution businesses, shipping,
healthcare purchasing exchanges and manufacturing. The Firm is registered with
the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and Frank is a concurrent
reviewer for various public company audits and is a member of the Firm's quality
control department.
Frank is dedicated to the belief that community
involvement plays an essential function in the fortification of our society and
volunteers for such roles as treasurer of his HOA, career day speaker, member of
scholarship judging committees, and crime prevention initiatives.
Bob
Steinberg, Attorney at Law, is a
tax attorney who is admitted to practice in NY and Florida, U.S. Tax Court and
in various other Federal jurisdictions. He is also a CPA (NY & FL) and CVA,
who practices in the areas of criminal and civil tax controversies, divorce
taxation including innocent spouse issues, filing of amended or delinquent
returns or formal voluntary disclosures including of offshore accounts, eggshell
audits, IRS collection matters including Offers in Compromise, Collection Due
Process Hearings, Tax Preparer Penalty Appeals, tax planning and credit repair.
He has spoken at and published materials for ABA meetings and article authored
by him have been published in The Florida Bar Journal, Journal of American
Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, ABA Family Division Family Advocate, Taxation
for Lawyers, Taxation for Accountants to name some. He is the author of Chapter
59, “Analyzing Economic and Valuation Issues”, Mathew Bender & Company
Florida Family Law, Brenda Abrams, editor (2000).
